Summer Update

Around July 4th, my sister came up to visit Hall and I in Virginia Beach. We had a great time. Stacey, Hall, and I watched fireworks on the beach for the fourth, went to the beach a few times with Frank, and rode our beach cruisers up and down the boardwalk. One day Stacey and I went to DC for the day so she could see it, she's never been. It was the hottest day in the history of the world, and we may have melted in some parts of the National Mall. But it was a great trip and we got to stay the night with our Aunt Heidi and Uncle Mark in Stafford, VA on the way back, right next to Quantico. They fed us very well after our long day in DC. We then drove down to Edisto Island, SC like I talked about in my previous post. Here are pics of Stacey's from that trip.

Watching the awesome fireworks show out on the beach for the fourth.

The Capitol Building. We took a tour at 10 in the morning and were dying of heat exhaustion to get to it on time. The heat was already unbearable at that time of day.

WWII memorial. Stacey had to take a pic in front of California. We also went and looked up our grandparents on my Dad's side who were both in WWII, met and married in Africa during the war and were separated for a year when my grandmother was moved our of Cairo and into another part of Africa.

Edisto Island, SC We always meet up the first night there and have a low country boil at my cousin Robert's house on the Island. It's the best night there and the most fun. Here is our family portrait there.

This pic was taken at one of the crazy rental houses on the island. Yup that's a jukebox in the background. Dad liked to play Mariah Carey, go figure. Dad is posing with Travis.

In Charleston at the battery. We dropped Drew and Allison off at the airport and walked around the market and battery for a while.

Stacey and Drew at our rental house on the Island before he left :( And yes that is one of many piles of boiled peanut shells we consumed that week. Once every two years can't be that bad can it?
