Things changed once presents started to be opened
Frank loved opening gifts as well, especially the boxes!
On Saturday we had a cookout for our friends and new friends to celebrate. We've never thrown a kids party before and Hall and I had absolutely no idea what we were doing. I think it ended up okay. We ordered in bar-b-que from a local place called Whitner's. It was really really good. The forecast had rain all day but we got super lucky and it ended up being mid-80's, slightly sunny, and not humid at all! It was perfect for playing in the backyard. We had corn hole set up along with a little kiddie pool and a slip and slide. My friend Jessi made Jack's smash cake that was unbelievable! She did such an amazing job on it and Jack will agree when I say it was delicious! If she ever doesn't want to be a mechanical engineer one day she could take up cake decorating. ;) Enjoy the pics!
How incredible is this cake? Jack had a fish theme for the party.
He has no idea what this cake is all about.
Starting to like it....
He needs a little encouragement from Aubrey.
Oh yeah, sold on the whole cake thing!
Cake is pretty much amazing!
Jack and the famous Jessi, otherwise known as the cake decorator. ;)
This little guy is named Jack as well and his birthday is, you guessed it, August 17, 2011. How weird is that? His dad works with Hall.
Straight in the pool. Do not pass go, do not collect $200.
Couldn't believe how much Jack enjoyed the slip and slide.
Such a big boy!!!
This cutie is Aubrey, we pretty much want to adopt her. Seriously she is awesome. Her and Jack hit it off like no other. It was adorable. At the end of the night we found Aubrey with a wing chair pulled up to the piano playing and eating corn on the cob. She would fit right in to the family. I hated that she had to go home, she was hilarious!
